Why is the stock market falling despite the India-US trade deal?

The India–US interim trade agreement, announced in early February 2026, marked a diplomatic milestone between New Delhi and Washington. Under the arrangement, the United States agreed to cut reciprocal tariffs on Indian exports from 50 % to around 18 %.
