What is a DSP SIP Calculator?

The DSP SIP calculator is a tool that helps you calculate the future value of your Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) in schemes of DSP Mutual Fund. You need to enter the amount of your monthly investment, expected annual return and investment duration.

The calculator will then estimate what could be the value of your investment in future. Additionally, this calculator points out that small-period investments are riskier with less income-generating potential. This tool helps plan investments and realize possible returns as well.

What is the Use of DSP SIP Calculator?

The SIP calculator for DSP is a useful tool for several reasons.

1. Estimate Returns in Present

With the DSP SIP calculator, you can get an idea about what your investments in DSP Mutual Fund schemes may be worth in future. You just have to enter your monthly investment, expected annual return and investment horizon.

On the basis of this data, the calculator estimates the potential returns from your SIP investment. It is designed to show investors how their investments might grow over time.

2. Plan Investments In Advance

With the DSP Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) calculator, you can effectively plan your investments.

You can observe how changes in these variables will impact the future amount of money that you will receive by altering the monthly investment amount, expected annual return and tenure period among others.

This adaptability permits one to make well-thought-out choices and customize their investment approach towards fulfilling their monetary objectives.

3. Choose Suitable Funds of DSP

The calculator suggests various DSP mutual fund schemes for SIP based on your inputs. This feature helps you choose the fund that best suits your investment goals.

By providing a list of suitable funds, the calculator simplifies the decision-making process, making it easier for you to select the right fund for your financial objectives.

4. Understand Compounding Better

Compounding is the process where the returns on your investment earn additional returns over time.

The calculator shows how your SIP investment grows exponentially over the long term due to compounding. This helps you visualize the potential growth of your investment and the importance of investing for the long term.

5. Target Corpus Building

Finally, the online DSP SIP calculator helps in building your target corpus. It estimates the returns and SIP amount for your chosen investment duration.

This feature allows you to understand how much you need to invest regularly to reach a specific financial goal. It’s a useful tool for goal-based investing, whether you’re saving for retirement, a house, or your child’s education.

How can DSP SIP Calculator Help You?

A DSP SIP calculator can help you estimate the future returns of a mutual fund project and the best periodic SIP amount to invest. It can also help you calculate how much you would have earned between two specific dates.

Guide on Using DSP SIP Calculator

Using the DSP SIP calculator is quite simple. Here are the steps:

  • Specify the duration for which you intend to invest. This may be any number of years, depending on your financial goals.

The calculator will then display the estimated returns for your SIP investment. Remember, the results are based on the inputs you provide and actual market returns may vary.

How to use the DSP Lumpsum Calculator?

Using the DSP Lumpsum calculator is quite simple. Here are the steps:

  • Access the DSP Lumpsum calculator online on Dhan.
  • Enter the Lumpsum investment amount in the first tab of the calculator.
  • Enter the expected return rate.
  • Select the number of years for your investment horizon.
  • Finally, click on the ‘Calculate’ button.

The calculator will then display the estimated returns for your lumpsum investment. Remember, the results are based on the inputs you provide and actual market returns may vary.

How are Returns in DSP SIP Calculated?

The returns in DSP SIP are calculated using the XIRR (Extended Internal Rate of Return) formula. XIRR is a function in Excel that calculates the internal rate of return for a series of cash flows that may not be periodic.

The XIRR formula is as follows:

=XIRR(values, dates, [guess])

Where:

  • values represent the series of cash flows.
  • dates are the specific dates that correspond to each cash flow.
  • guess is an initial estimate of what the IRR will be.

This formula uses an iterative method to determine XIRR. Beginning with the assumption, XIRR repeats the calculation until it is correct up to 0.000001%.
