The Nifty 50 Index is dominated by the Financial service sector which weights to 39.47% followed by the IT sector which weighs around 15.36% and the IT sector is followed by the Energy sector with sector weight of 14.42%.

Nifty 50 Index is calculated by using a process known as the free float market capitalization-weighted method. Which reflects the total market value of all the stocks in the index relative to a base period value.
