Tata Motors Shares in Focus as US-EU Trade Deal Reduces Tariffs on Auto Exports
Tata Motors shares are expected to be in focus following a US-European Union trade deal that reduces tariffs on automobile exports from 27.5% to 15%. The deal is particularly significant for Tata Motors' subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover, which considers the US a major market. JLR's Slovakia manufacturing plant, which produces the Defender model, exports majority of its US-bound vehicles from this facility. The company had temporarily paused US shipments in April due to reciprocal tariffs but resumed in May. JLR's global wholesale volumes increased 22% in 2024. Tata Motors shares closed 1.8% lower at ₹687.55, remaining flat over the past month and declining 8.2% year-to-date.
Anil Ambani's Reliance Group Announces Growth Strategy Focused on Defence and Clean Energy
Anil Ambani's Reliance Group outlined its growth strategy targeting defence, power, and renewables sectors during a leadership meeting of over 100 executives from Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Power. The boards of both companies approved plans to raise Rs 18,000 crore through equity and debt to fund expansion in defence, aerospace, and renewable energy. Reliance Infrastructure will focus on defence manufacturing, including partnerships to produce Falcon 2000 business jets with Dassault Aviation and establish MRO facilities with Coastal Mechanics. The company aims to rank among India's top three defence exporters. In power, BSES continues serving over 53 lakh households in Delhi while focusing on clean energy sourcing. Reliance Power operates a 5.3 GW portfolio and has secured 3.3 GWh of solar and battery storage projects, including Asia's largest solar-plus-storage project. The meeting occurred as the Enforcement Directorate concluded searches at group locations as part of a money laundering investigation, though the companies stated this had no impact on business operations.
TCS Announces 2% Global Workforce Reduction as Part of Strategic Transformation
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India's largest IT services provider, plans to reduce its global workforce by approximately 2% over the next year as part of a strategic transformation to become a 'Future-Ready' organization. The reduction will primarily affect middle and senior-grade employees across international markets. TCS stated this decision is part of broader initiatives including investments in emerging technologies, expansion into new markets, large-scale AI deployment, and infrastructure revamp. The company emphasized the move will not impact client service delivery and is implementing reskilling and redeployment programs. TCS will provide affected employees with benefits, outplacement services, counseling, and transition support. The announcement reflects broader industry trends toward digital transformation, AI integration, and operational efficiency.

We are bullish on India, we are bullish on India's prospects to be one of the largest economies in the world. We believe that the stock market provides a unique opportunity for all of India's traders and investors to participate in the growth story of the country.
Yet, most investing & trading platforms in India have remained more or less the same over the past decade. Times have changed and retail traders and investors have become smarter about managing their trades and money. Modern traders & investors require an online trading platform that helps them keep up with the technological advancements of our time.
That's why we're building Dhan - to help you trade, to help you invest, and to help you participate in India's growth stock via the stock market with awesome features and an incredible experience.
