Net debt-to-EBITDA stood at 1.3x and credit rating was reaffirmed at AA. Key operational highlights included record alumina production of 587 kt (up 9% year-on-year), record zinc India mined metal output of 265 kt, and zinc international production surge of 50% year-on-year to 57 kt. Vedanta Receives Bombay High Court Protection Against SAFEMA Penalty Recovery
Vedanta Limited has obtained interim protection from the Bombay High Court against recovery of penalty amounts related to an appeal filed against an order from the Appellate Tribunal under SAFEMA, New Delhi. The High Court order dated July 30, 2025 granted interim protection and injunction against penalty recovery from the appellants, subject to certain conditions. The company and individuals had filed the appeal before the Bombay High Court, and the court noted that the appeals have already been admitted. This follows a previous order from the SAFEMA Appellate Tribunal that was disclosed by Vedanta in November 2024.
Vedanta Approves $84 Million Additional Investment for Gamsberg Phase II Expansion, Discontinues Capital Reorganization Scheme
Vedanta Limited's Board of Directors approved enhancements to its Gamsberg Phase II Expansion Project, requiring an additional $84 million investment. The improvements will increase plant throughput by 10%, metal recovery by 3%, and include a new tailings storage facility aligned with ESG goals. The enhanced project will raise Gamsberg's plant capacity from 4 Mtpa to 8.4 Mtpa of ore, producing an additional 220 ktpa of metal in concentrate, positioning Vedanta Zinc International as the largest zinc producer in South Africa. Additionally, the Board decided not to pursue the previously approved Scheme of Arrangement for transferring General Reserve funds to Retained Earnings, which was pending before the National Company Law Tribunal. The decision reflects evolving strategic priorities and is subject to tribunal approval.
