Locked-in refers to investments in your portfolio that cannot be sold or traded for a specific period due to restrictions. These restrictions could arise from:
- Lock-in periods imposed by mutual funds or certain IPO allotments.
- Regulatory requirements that restrict trading during a certain time frame.
During the lock-in period, the assets remain in your portfolio, but you are unable to sell or transfer them. Once the lock-in period expires, the restriction is lifted, and you can trade or sell those investments.
