Settlement Holiday
What is a settlement holiday?
The unrealized ledger shows the profit and credit from your previous trading day that hasn’t been settled yet, often due to a settlement holiday, Saturday, or Sunday.
If you’ve used MTF (Margin Trading Facility) to buy shares, this section will also reflect the funding amount provided by Dhan for your MTF holdings. The value here is updated daily based on the price movement of the stocks you hold under MTF.
For example:
You earned a profit of ₹5,000 from equity intraday trading on Monday, 7th April (after all charges). Normally, this profit would be available for trading or withdrawal on the next working day, which is Tuesday, 8th April. But if Tuesday is a settlement holiday, the ₹5,000 won’t be added to your available margin or withdrawal balance on that day. Instead, it will be available to use or withdraw on the next working day, i.e., Wednesday, 9th April.
📝 Note: You can still see this amount in the Dhan app/web: Go to Money > Margin Summary > Unrealized Ledger
