Settlement Holiday
What is a settlement holiday?
When you earn a profit or receive a credit from your trades, the exchange settles it within T+1 (Trading + 1 working day). This means if you made a profit on Monday, and Tuesday is a settlement holiday, your funds won’t be available until Wednesday morning at 9 AM.
While your profit is being settled, you can still view the details in your Ledger or Unrealized Ledger under the Margin Summary section.
For example:
You made a profit of ₹10,000 from intraday trading in Index F&O and earned an option premium of ₹5,000 on Monday, 7th April. On Tuesday, 8th April, there’s a settlement holiday (banks and/or clearing corporations are closed), so your total earnings of ₹15,000 will not be available for trading or withdrawal. Rest assured, it will reflect and be available to use on Wednesday, 9th April.
📝 Note: On any settlement holiday, as well as Saturday and Sunday, profits and credits are not available. They get settled on the next working day.
